Have you every noticed you sometimes have dark shadows at your underarms?

There are several reasons for this but the most common is shaving.

When we shave we are not reducing the root of the hair under your skin but simply making it much more stronger and bigger! Which is what you are looking at when you see the shadow.

If you regularly start to have your underarms waxed at least every 2-4 weeks you wont see the shadow because waxing will be making the hair root weaker which means smaller and much less visible.

A lot of clients are relucant to growout their underarm hair because it can be visible especially for gym sessions and sunny days  but underarm waxing can be performed every 2 weeks as underarm hair grows much faster than other body hair.  The hot wax I use is #perronrigot and have for the last 8 years and I find it is very effective at removing these smaller 2 week length hairs.  Also the more you wax your underarm hair it will become finer and lighter so no one will notice the hair growing out as its much lighter in colour and texture:).  If you regularly wax every 2-4 with no shaving in between, eventually the folicle will no longer produce a hair so less hair overall – these are benefits you will never receive with shaving so its win win.

Also one of my clients mentioned this to me and I had been thinking  the same thing – hairy underarms maske your deodorant becomes less effective simply because it has to fight through hair to hit the skin. Shaving will never decrease this problem as it thickens up the hair but regular waxing will eventually lead to less hair and more effective deodorant usage and less ‘is that me’ moments when its warm!
